While volunteering at the True False film festival in Columbia, Missouri, I sat down and talked with a few of the featured filmmakers at the festival. I told them I was looking for real-life experience with documentary filmmaking, and as a cinema major, I was not getting that at Binghamton. They said I should check out the D-Word and ask around for anyone looking for free help this summer on their projects.
I would prefer to actually work on a project, and not just run errands and answer phones etc. I want to make documentaries as a career and I really need to learn.
