Bio

Chelsi Bullard is a video editor specializing in documentary work. Her particular interest in storytelling is artfully presenting the rawness, truth, and complexities of the human condition. Most passionately, she is drawn to stories of under-represented societies that bring global issues to a national audience. Chelsi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies & English (double major) from Vanderbilt University. After receiving her degree, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and began working at a small production company as their in-house video editor. While with the company, she edited their first feature-length documentary, Prayers of the Ancient Ones. The film is set to release in May 2013 in Berkeley, CA. Her current film project is Turning the Wheel. This film is also expected to be feature-length, and Chelsi will serve as Co-director as well as Editor. Turning the Wheel is supported by Oxford University and sponsored by the Royal Geographical Society. The film follows three western volunteers on their journey from Kathmandu, Nepal to Lhasa, Tibet, and from Lhasa to Mount Kailash, in western Tibet. The film explores the relationship between an overarching ‘symbolic’ Kailash pilgrim community and the material culture of pilgrimage.
