Thanks I'm doing it now.
I'm getting the word out that Albertus Magnus College is hosting a film series
in the fall. The theme is "WE THE PEOPLE." There is an open call for
submissions. It could be anything that has a tie to the Bill of Rights or US
Constitution. I'm not talking about super-obvious apple pie and fireworks
either. The entries can be balanced or biased. Documentary or satirical… They
can be provocative or healing... they just need to offer some perspective on
the aforementioned American ideals as they pertain or contrast to present
American life. As examples, films can engage topics such as: freedom of speech
freedom of religion separation of church and state the right to bear arms…
There’s more information online along with a downloadable application.

DocuClub in July: Wednesday, July 9, 2008, 7 p.m.
DocuClub is Arts Engine’s monthly film screening series of works-in-progress documentaries.
Our next DocuClub screening will take place on Wednesday, July 9, at 7 p.m., at Goldcrest Post (799 Washington Street, between Horatio and Gansevoort), in New York City’s West Village. Our moderator will be Milton Tabbot, Senior Director of Programming at IFP.
Join us as we watch Danae Elon’s "Partly Private." The film is an intensely personal and witty look at the ritual of male circumcision. Using first-person narration, Elon documents her own pregnancy and the unexpected dilemmas she encounters with her partner and father of her unborn child. What should they do to their newborn’s penis? Determined and obsessed, Elon sets out on a worldly quest to find out all she can about what “other people do.†The exploration exposes in an amusing way the flaws of being human. The film will be shown on Arte France, TV Ontario, TV2 Denmark, and Israel’s Channel 8.
Danae Elon is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, producer and cinematographer. Her last film, "Another Road Home," was a nuanced look at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Theatrically released in 2005, it showed in over twenty US cities, and broadcast on the Sundance channel, BBC, Al Jazeera and Israeli television.

INTERN NEEDED IMMEDIATELY!
I have yet to update my profile here on D-Word ... but I'm Beth Levison, an independent in NYC ....
We are producing an independent documentary film about an ex-con turned spoken word artist who is writing, developing, and rehearsing his one-man show for the New York stage. We're looking for a smart, ready-to-roll-up-his/her-sleeves, and hard working intern who can provide both production and post-production support during the early stages of our process (we're producing our fundraising reel) and starting immediately.
We're a small team (2 of us), so it's definitely a terrific experience for someone wanting to dive right in. Ideally, this person could devote him/herself to the project for the next two weeks and then possibly work part time from there. We need basic organizational support and help with production coordination (person may come on location), archival research, and post prep.
Candidates should send their resumes/letters of interest to email@example.com.
