Production Board or Production Strip Board
15" 4-panel Film Production Board, black leather exterior
Open measures: 16 ½”H x 41 1/2"W x 1 ¼” D
Closed measures: 16 ½” H x 10 ¼”W x 1 ¼” D
This 4-panel strip board is designed for a commercial shoot. The panels have a shallow pocket along the top and bottom to hold the Cast Header and Colored Strips.
A traditional film production board or production strip board is a cardboard chart holding color-coded strips of paper, each containing information about a scene in the script. The strips, called production strips, can then be rearranged and laid out sequentially to represent the scene order that the Assistant Director (AD) will schedule the film. The sequential order of the production board will be in perfect sync with the shooting.
Strips are available at: http://filmproductionworkshops.com/film_resources/film_production_strip_boards.html

Not sure this is the best place to post, but I recently began making short profiles of creative people and organizations. Not sure if it's become a viable niche market yet, but it's something I'm good at and want to make more. I have embedded my latest video on the humor artist, Rick Parker called 'Finding Humor in Art.' To get an idea of the type of work he does, he recently finished the satiric comic, 'Harry Potty.'
I've pasted the url below.
Any ideas, tips or other chit-chat will be much appreciated.
Looks like I screwed up in the last post. Let my Vimeo Plus account expire. Anyway, below is the YouTube link to my video.
Okay, I know this is probably getting annoying – but, if any of you know of someone who would like to have a profile made of them, love to know . . . ;-))
Looking of an EXPERIENCED DOCUMENTARY FILM DP in the New York Area!! Experience on a Panasonic HVX and 16mm film camera would be ideal!
We are a quarter of the way through shooting a doc "Life In The Balance" which lifts the veil on a testing procedure that helps tailor cancer treatment to the individual. This is our first documentary so we are looking for someone who is experienced ideally someone who has been recognized for their work. Please email resumes along with reels to the email below. Nicely done, Catherine, but not sure whether you're looking to get hired to do more of your short pieces or looking for subjects to build up your collection of them (for possible distribution?). Can you tell us more about what your plans are?
Thank you Doug. I'm glad you liked it. To answer your questions, both really. I hadn't thought about creating a compilation piece but it definitely is food for thought. Also, I want to mention that I'm not just interested in creating films for artists but also any person who creates something unique and valuable in some way – chef, teacher, gardener, founder of an organization that helps others or a cause or creative endeavor, artisans, a filmmaker that creates a unique approach to filmmaking (like you???) – I have also made short videos nonprofits/NGOs and looking for more opportunities to do that too.
Currently I'm planning to make a few short films – one about someone who continues to do hand engraving, while machines are taking over and another about a man who builds clocks.
Below I have posted another video I made for the World Wide Orphans Foundation that I shot in Haiti. The founder is Jane Aronson who's been getting a lot of press coverage lately. It's only about 5 minutes. I'd love it if you can take a look at it.
One last thing that I know you can help with since you are the webmaster extroardinaire for the D-Word. How do I customize my settings so I receive an email when somebody responds to my posts. I have it set up so I'm emailed the post after mine but these are not always responses but posts that are on different topics.
Thanks again – cathy

YoungWorldInventors- tweet: Watch #global #innovators at #work! http://kck.st/jrLUNg
Wednesday 6 am EDT is the deadline for our Kickstarter campaign [http://kck.st/jrLUNg and we are short ~$1600 in pledges, lest we lose them all. See update #8 for a nice link to Next Billion post. Funding is for transcripts, editing and music, by the first viral video band in Kenya. In fact, the first $1000 donor can meet the talented Just a Band – comics, photos, videos, music and teaching computer literacy to teenagers in Kibera, Africa's largest slum – at their video installation in NYC in late August, their first USA trip.
One YWI KS backer says:
"I have no connection to this project, other than I think it is very cool and the goals are near to my heart. I pledged $125, did a favor for someone and they pledged $100; posted it on Facebook and said this is what I wanted for my birthday and people pledged various amounts. My birthday wish was to be a funding "angel" and I hope you'll join me....every little bit helps....money not charged if goal not reached."

Working on a feature documentary premiering at TIFF in 3 weeks! We need a 3-5 second piece of stock footage ASAP.
HD or 35mm (Most of the film was shot on HD DVCPro 23.98 960x720)
High Production Value
Daytime, medium sunlight (it is London...)

*Would love to get footage in return for a film credit, but can negotiate a purchase price.

DocuClub in September!
Our July DocuClub will take place on Tuesday, September 20, 7 p.m., at DCTV, located at 87 Lafayette (at Walker).
This month, we will screen a rough cut of ZIPPER by Amy Nicholson. On a small rented lot in Coney Island, Eddie Miranda proudly operates a 38-year old contraption called the Zipper. When the property is sold, Eddie becomes the victim of a power struggle between an opportunistic developer and the City of New York over the future of the famous amusement park. A story about politics, greed, land use and public policy, ZIPPER chronicles a critical period in Coney Island’s history and examines the impact of economic development on an American icon.
Director/Producer Amy Nicholson's first non-fiction film, BEAUTY SCHOOL, a wry portrait of the New York School of dog grooming, premiered at Hot Docs in 2002 and aired on PBS and the Documentary Channel. Her following documentary, MUSKRAT LOVELY, premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival and went on to screen at Silverdocs, the Florida Film Festival, and Brooklyn International, among others. It was also broadcast nationally on the 2007 season of Independent Lens. She has also directed several commercial projects and consults as an advertising creative director. ZIPPER is her third film.
Co-Editor Jonah Moran has edited the award-wining Sundance Channel series ICONOCLASTS with director Joe Berlinger, and the ambitious Discovery Channel series SAN QUENTIN FILM SCHOOL, with Bruce Synofsky. Co-Editor John Young is commercial editor at Homestead Editorial. A graduate of Tisch School of the Arts, he has cut 30-second spots for major multinational advertising clients like MTV, ESPN, Chevrolet, L’Oreal, Reese’s and Verizon Wireless (“Can you hear me now?”). His most recent work includes campaigns for Dell, the NHL, Project (RED) and Nationwide Insurance. John’s feature film credits include the Parker Cross comedy Fortunes, and the documentary feature MUSKRAT LOVELY.
Assistant Producer Katy Jacobs graduated from New York University’s Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television in 2009. In addition to her duties with ZIPPER , she is an Associate Producer to Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Alice Elliott, director of TTHE COLLECTOR OF BEDFORD STREET. Jacobs has assisted with programming and operations for several film festivals including Brooklyn International, Rural Route Film Festival and DOC NYC. She also serves as the Director of Educational Distribution at VSM Productions and is a member of the New York Film & Video Council.
Our moderator will be Fernanda Rossi. Internationally-renowned speaker and story consultant Fernanda Rossi doctored over 300 films, including Academy Award nominees® THE GARDEN, by Scott Hamilton Kennedy, and RECYCLED LIFE by Leslie Iwerks. She has also consulted on hundreds of trailers, many of which received funding from ITVS, NYSCA and NFB. She is the author of "Trailer Mechanics: A Guide to Making your Documentary Fundraising Demo."
