The organization acquired a lot of film equipment in the past year that is barely used and that it is now hoping to sell. It is selling this excellent, lightly-used gear – Camera, Sound, Lighting – at roughly 65% of the retail price.
The organization will be having a series of Open Houses to showcase these items. The first Open House is scheduled for this Wednesday, July 18, 2012.

Selling my lens Sigma 17-50 2.8 Nikon Mount (ALMOST NEW).
BH Photo sells it new for $669, I am selling it after only two shoots for almost $200 less, only $499. The lens was always used with the UV filter on. Includes original box, fabric case, instructions, uv filter, lens cap, and lens hood.
I was using this for video with the Sony FS-100, but it would work great with Sony F3, Panasonic Af100, Canon C300 and all Nikon photo cameras and DSLRS.

A parallel fifth storyline tells the background of Berlin’s gay pride and the development from on to two different parades on the same day in the city.

New York, NY—The Paley Center for Media today announced a call for entries for its celebrated Art of the Documentary Pitch Workshop at PALEYDOCFEST2012, which will be held at the Paley Center in New York on Saturday, October 20, 2012. In this workshop/competition—now in its ninth year—a panel of documentary executives and producers discuss the process of developing a documentary and will hear and evaluate pitches from five preselected up-and-coming filmmakers who are hoping to sell either a nonfiction concept or a documentary work-in-progress. The winner of the pitch competition in October will receive a $5,000 grant to be used towards the completion of their project.
This call for entries is to be selected as one of the five filmmakers who will participate in the workshop in October.

Film Description: License to Pimp is a feature documentary about the choices that three San Francisco strippers make as their workplaces engage in illegal labor practices. Strip clubs refuse to pay strippers even minimum wages & actually charge them for the privilege to work. The filmmaker worked in San Francisco’s strip clubs and witnessed how co-workers felt economically pressured to engage in prostitution to make their quotas to avoid being fired. Now as a filmmaker, she uncovers current working conditions to find out how strip clubs are able to operate outside the law.

FULL FRAME'S 2013 NEW DOCS CALL FOR ENTRIES OPENS AUGUST 15
Full Frame exhibits nearly 100 documentary films in various categories. By completing the online application, you will be submitting to NEW DOCS, the festival’s competitive program which includes films completed in the last two years. In 2012, 57 films were selected for NEW DOCS from 1200 entries. NEW DOCS films are eligible for a number of awards in various categories. The 2012 festival offered 9 awards, with prizes totaling nearly $50,000 in cash and services.
The 2013 festival will take place Thursday, April 4, through Sunday, April 7.

LOS ANGELES / NEW YORK – The Karen Schmeer Film Editing Fellowship assists emerging documentary editors by supporting and developing their talent, expanding their creative community, and furthering their career aspirations. In conjunction with American Cinema Editors (ACE) and other partners, the Fellowship, in its third year, offers a wide array of opportunities. The Fellowship is targeted at documentary editors; fiction experience is welcome, though not required.
Past recipients were Erin Casper (“Our School”) and Lindsay Utz (“Bully”).
Awarded once a year, the Fellowship honors the memory of gifted editor Karen Schmeer (“Fog of War”; “Fast, Cheap & Out of Control”; “Bobby Fischer Against the World”), who was killed in a hit-and-run car accident at age 39, on January 29, 2010.

For the HBO film “Sergio,” Karen won the Best Editing Award at Sundance in 2009. Karen was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and attended Boston University. On her way home from editing Liz Garbus’ “Bobby Fischer Against the World,” Karen was struck and killed by a car fleeing a robbery in New York City on January 29, 2010.
