I'm shooter and editor, I've 5 years of experience making documentaries and video. I've done 2 documentaries in Africa and some in Europe as shooter/director/editor. In Uganda I made a documentary about alcoholism and in Tanzania about the traditions of Maasai tribe and their impact on contemporary world. I'm interested in controversial issues and social documentaries.
Now I'm looking new experiences, I would to join in some new production or share some of my projects.
I can help in the phase of script, production or post-production. I'm convinced that the experiences of documentaries and videos are more interesting if they are the result of collaborations.
More informations about my works and skills are:

Write to me for any question or consideration,
Thanks,
Franco

The Director of Bigger Stronger Faster is looking for a great documentary line produceer, DP, Interns, PA's and anyone else that'd like to send me reels, resumes, etc. for my new documentary Trophy Kids.

This film is about the importance that we place on our kids to excel in athletics even though statistics say that only 3% of NCAA Division One Scholarship Athletes will ever turn pro. This film will feature famous athletes, coaches, and most importantly real and touching stories of kids and their parents striving for perfection.

I don't need someone to raise money or executive produce. I have that handled. I need a crew that can shoot this and make it look amazing and someone that can help me everyday in Los Angeles, most likely Venice or Santa Monica with Day to Day production.

Please send resume, reel if you're a DP, and whatever else you'd like to mention to BiggerStrongerFasterYounger@[AT]gmail[DOT]com ATTN: Chris Bell

For DC-area folks...

Docs In Progress is excited to announce our next work-in-progress screening, taking place in one week on Wednesday, April 6 at 7 pm at the Silver Spring Civic Building. This program is being produced in partnership with the Gilchrist Center for Cultural Diversity, a program of the Montgomery County Government and is sponsored by the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County.

After the screening, we'll be moderating a workshop-style audience critique session. This honest but constructive feedback is aimed at helping the filmmaker get to the next stage of completing and distributing her film.

WHAT'S SCREENING?

THE CREATORS (80 minute fine cut)
by Laura Gamse

WHERE?
The Silver Spring Civic Building
One Veterans Place (corner of Fenton and Ellsworth)
Silver Spring, MD 20910

UPDATED CALL FOR ENTRIES:

Africa Volunteer Corps is searching for short films to participate in our Visualize Change series of fundraisers. AVC is an organization dedicated to harnessing the potential of Africans, strengthening grassroots social change in Africa, and putting the development process in the hands of locals. We ask for films that portray empowerment, positive images of Africa, or the importance of local initiatives to the development process. We seek especially to showcase African filmmakers, but we welcome filmmakers of all nationalities.

The selected films will be shown to audiences of 50-100 activists and philanthropists in cities across the Unites States: ; Athens, GA, April 25th; New York, April 26th; Chicago, May 9th. The screenings will be followed by a question and answer session with AVC founder Caitlin Kelley. A biography of each filmmaker (as well as contact information) will be included in our event program. Selected films may also be screened at a sister event in New York city on April 19th. AVC issued a call for entries in Feburary, 2011 for the inaugural Visualize Change event held in Chicago on March 3rd, 2011. The success of the event led us to add more cities and seek out additional films.

Films must be 10 to 60 minutes in length and submitted by April 8th. Please submit digital files to caitlin[DOT]kelley[AT]africavolunteercorps[DOT]org via Dropbox. DVD’s should be sent to Africa Volunteer Corps, c/o Caitlin Kelley, 963 Kent Ave, #3, Brooklyn, NY 11205. Films must be received by April 8th to be considered for inclusion in our 2011 forum. Films sent after this deadline will be kept for consideration in future events.
