I am fellow documentary director and shooter and our production company FILM FOR THOUGHT just bought a fantastic C300 package we are willing to rent out to our documentary colleagues during our shooting schedule downtime.

We bought the camera since it's so light, modular, very unobtrusive and easy to professionally color-correct with its C-log setting. It's an amazing A-roll interview camera that rivals the RED. And most importantly – it has an unmatched low-light capability (we did professional tests and the camera held with minimal natural-looking grain up to an ISO of 6400) .

We are using the camera around 1 or 2 days a week which means it's available quite a bit. I have no interest in renting out the camera package to a big rental house but rather have it stay within the documentary community.

Coded Stories: Art, Bar Codes, & Mapuche Identity
Coded Stories, a documentary film, weaves together contemporary art with indigenous rights to convey the struggle of the Mapuche of Chile to preserve their culture and way of life. The goal of Coded Stories is to spread awareness about the plight of the Mapuche, a people whose traditions are under serious threat.

The film follows artist Guillermo Bert, a Chilean-born, Los Angeles-based artist whose recent work was inspired by the similarities between Mapuche textile patterns and contemporary bar codes (QR codes). Bert's art raises questions about identity, globalization, modernization, and challenges facing indigenous cultures in the Americas.

Selling my lens Sigma 17-50 2.8 Nikon Mount (ALMOST NEW).

BH Photo sells it new for $669, I am selling it after only two shoots for almost $200 less, only $499. The lens was always used with the UV filter on. Includes original box, fabric case, instructions, uv filter, lens cap, and lens hood.

I was using this for video with the Sony FS-100, but it would work great with Sony F3, Panasonic Af100, Canon C300 and all Nikon photo cameras and DSLRS.

New York, NY—The Paley Center for Media today announced a call for entries for its celebrated Art of the Documentary Pitch Workshop at PALEYDOCFEST2012, which will be held at the Paley Center in New York on Saturday, October 20, 2012. In this workshop/competition—now in its ninth year—a panel of documentary executives and producers discuss the process of developing a documentary and will hear and evaluate pitches from five preselected up-and-coming filmmakers who are hoping to sell either a nonfiction concept or a documentary work-in-progress. The winner of the pitch competition in October will receive a $5,000 grant to be used towards the completion of their project.

This call for entries is to be selected as one of the five filmmakers who will participate in the workshop in October.
