I checked: the posts were three minutes apart, in Bar and Grill. I type and send (too) quickly, ya ya, but still. Here, however, in Help, I notice the erasure icon is still active in the post above this one. methought one had about 15 mintues' grace.
Help, Suggestions, Future of The D-Word
Difficulties with The D-Word? If you can't find the right answers on our Help page, please post in this topic. Ideas for future D-Word releases or projects can be posted here as well.
Jo-Anne, you get 15 minutes grace only for the last post you submit.
Niam, I'm already aware of this and it's on my list.
Hi Peter, right but even that didn't happen, in the bar and grill. i left the subject, returned a few minutes later and couldn't eliminate the immediately previous post.
Did you close your browser in between or logout? Or had someone posted after you?
No, no one posted after, but it is possible I closed the browser - it's busy here. Is there a work around? If not, oh well.
Okay - i see now what you meant by last posting. I was switching between topics. So when I went to my last posting in topic A, after posting in B, it was locked in. Different understanding of last posting resolved. But then I ask if it is possible to stretch this when you are fine-tuning, please.
I've found myself (on a number of occasions) writing a post, then accidentally clicking Preview instead of Post without realizing it. When the preview loads, I assume I've actually posted and leave the topic, only to find out later that my post isn't there at all. Is it only me who has done this? If so, then I'll just have to pay closer attention when I'm in a hurry, but otherwise perhaps we could separate those buttons out so Post is in the bottom right hand corner and preview is pushed left...
I accidentally hit "reset counter to zero". Is there a way to set the "read postings since __" like on the old d-word?
Remember the old d-word forum? I wonder it's doing these days?
It's a clever feature but I think Joe was the only one using it...
After all, if you try to make an easier interface, you need to lose some clutter. We never intended to make another Motet.
As for Marj's concern, we could also have a red frame around previews, maybe?
Request/idea/suggestion for the FABULOUS New d-word:
Very often, I want to send myself someone's post. Obviously, I can cut and paste the content into another document, but it would be cool to be able to hit "email to a friend" (or if that's not ok, because of members-only, "email to my email of record). Anyone else?
that would be sweet, although tagging would fulfill the same "come back to it over and over again" function
Ben/Peter, perhaps even just switching the positioning of preview and post. My mouse naturally makes for the preview button because it's closest.
My suggestion is: slow down and read the big, bold message that says:
This is a PREVIEW. It has not yet been published.
so...i made a big post in another topic. upon re-reading it (i had posted, not previewed it) i wanted to tweak a couple of things, so i went into the edit mode. i did my tweaking, then hit save, but only HALF the post appeared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
luckily, i had copied my text (i've lost too many long posts not to) and was able to paste it and then do my tweaks, but that is a disturbing occurance.
did you see the entire post when you were editing? or did it only disappear after you re-submitted the post?
PeteRRR sounds more like my GP every post. Does it only hurt when you breathe?
Peter, I'm not sure if the whole message was there. i only tweaked a few things in the first half, didn't check the whole thing. the edit window, by the way, is disturbingly small.
Not sure that it matters much, but it looks like maybe posting order gets mixed up if one person is posting while another person is editing an adjacent post. Like I said, not really a big deal, but maybe a clue in sorting out any other unexpected behavior.
I suppose it wouldn't take much to make the edit window bigger... But I think I know what caused the problem and will fix it in the next milestone.
How do you post a big link like this aand make it work?

Do you need < > on either side or the likes thereof?
The problems are the underscores. Please wait for the fix. In the meantime, there's utilities on the net that let you zip long URLs into new short ones.
Sorry it has taken so long for me to fix these formatting bugs. I've made a few fixes now that should help you put in URLs like
- and
- not
- break
- lists
