Help, Suggestions, Future of The D-Word
Difficulties with The D-Word? If you can't find the right answers on our Help page, please post in this topic. Ideas for future D-Word releases or projects can be posted here as well.
Re Cameras: Perhaps Deepak Varma, in trying to post his pictures, locked up the topic in some way? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
funny... i finally decide to post a trailer in WIP and it's not working. it's a Vimeo URL and I'm getting the error folks were getting in the past:
There were problems with the following fields:
Embed is not a valid video URL. Please use a URL of a YouTube, Vimeo or Distrify page. (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmciuKsBOi0)
I see on extra TV show; where they were talking about a documentary about dyslexia and recommended for more info see dword.com I have not been able to find it?
Lewis,
Looks as though "D Word" is just part of the title, not a source of info.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2106687/
I think so; I found what I was looking for; thank you anyway.
Lewis
When I try to post a link to vimeo (by copying and pasting) I get an error message that the URL is not valid. Any ideas as to what's happening and how to fix it?
I should have said that it was in the Works in Progress topic.
This should be fixed now. Turns out vimeo changed their API and also their standard URLs. I've updated The D-Word to support these changes.
Hey folks – this has come up in the Works in Progress thread: "what is the HIDDEN SECTION?" – I don't quite understand the purpose – aren't all postings visible to all who are logged in as pros? Am I missing an important protocol?
Yes. It's all visible to professionals. By putting something in the hidden section (link directly below posting box) it takes one further click for the reader to see it. We generally encourage really long posts that maybe aren't your own (e.g. an article or job posting you are passing along) to go in the hidden section. Some folks use it for more sensitive information. Many here use it for comedic impact. But if a professional clicks, yes, it's all available to see.
Just to clarify, people in WIP are using it now so that others who may not want to read their input, or who may want to watch the piece without reading the thoughts of others first don't have to see their feedback. Blame Margot.

Thanks – yes – it makes sense and it's quite sophisticated...
Sorry about the downtime over the last day or so. Nothing to do with us. This is what we were up against.
As a consequence, Peter is preparing a move to a different host which should give us better overall performance.
First stage of the move completed. The database is now in a different state. I'll move the uploads later tonight and then we'll be completely in new surrounds...
There may still be some intermittent issues. Please bear with us!
You're looking extremely stressed, Peter. Have a drink in the Bar.

Thank you, Peter!

I was concerned...
I always read D-Word with my morning tea.
Now once again, all is right with the world.
We might still experience a bit of downtime as we decided to use this 'opportunity' to move our server to a different host.
