- Synopsis
"The #1 Bus Chronicles" uses a small sociological microcosm – a bus stop on an industrial highway in New Jersey – to launch a timely and intimate examination of marginalized lives in America. An interwoven series of portraits of the pursuits, trials, and dreams of #1 bus riders, "The #1 Bus Chronicles" portrays people we meet at the bus stop in their workplaces, homes, and day-to-day lives. In delving the lives of its characters the film explores themes that are urgent to contemporary society: income inequality, immigration policy, and spiritual resilience in the face of hardship.
