Synopsis

This new documentary explores the fundamental questions of why we have menopause in humans and its role in our evolution. Turns out that menopause made us and The Wise Women Hypothesis shows how. Then a misunderstanding changed everything 10,000 years ago and the patriarchy rose. Wife and husband team are joined by comedian and activist Margaret Cho to investigate and uncover this surprising story by talking with doctors, anthropologists, scientists and authors to unravel the mystery.
