Bio
Michael Marlatt is a disabled film archivist, archival producer and archival accessibility consultant. He received his PhD from York University’s Communication & Culture program in 2024. His dissertation examined accessibility gaps in moving image archival education. He has previously worked on archival film related projects with TIFF, the CFMDC, York University, and Archive/Counter-Archive. Michael has also acted as a workshop host and archival research advisor. Michael has previously written on and presented at conferences relating to the experience of the disabled archivist. Michael previously served on AMIA’s Advocacy Committee of the Board and as an advisor for the AMIA Pathways Fellowship.
